Muskrat

Muskrats are small mammals with round bodies and long, hairless, black tails. Thick, brown fur covers their bodies. Their eyes are small. They possess small front feet for digging and webbed back feet for swimming.

These nocturnal animals are omnivores and eat roots, stems, leaves, snails, insects, and fish. Giant muskrats hunt larger animals and even attack humanoids that enter their territory.

Muskrats are excellent swimmers. They can swim forward or backward and are able to hold their breath for up to 12 minutes.

When they go to sleep, muskrats return to their underground tunnels or lodges made from vegetation. They mainly thrive in temperate climates and always live in wetlands and swamps.

Males and females have the same characteristics, and both are fiercely protective of their young.
