General Information: Mark Kibbe
Mike Kibbe
Mike is responsible for much of the actual mechanics of game play. His ideas
created our combat system, as well as, most of the armor and shield ratings and ratios. He
also had a hand in creating the spell casters, many of the spells, and a fair share of the
monsters. If you find yourselves battling the Bren, Mulkrog or Steam Lizards, blame Mike
for the damage they inflict. Also, Mike continues working on support material for the
Forge Universe, including information released in Agminster and the rumors found in Tales
From Cross Haven.
Paul Kibbe
Paul is one of the true role-players. Throughout his 18 years in the gaming
world, he has created dozens of memorable characters such as Pic (the mentally challenged
Ghantu that fought fearlessly). He also created Father Telmar, the self-righteous priest
that would kill his enemy and then whisper "You are forgiven, my son". His
scores of characters are only overshadowed by his skill in creating monsters that make
adventurers shiver. I could tell you about the horrors he has spawned, but that would ruin
the surprise!
Mark Kibbe
Responsible for most of the mythology behind the gaming system, many of the
monsters, some of the mechanics, and several of the wizard types. He spent three years
chained to his computer (located in the basement hence the name Basement Games)
working diligently on writing the rules. Since the release of Forge, Mark Kibbe has been
working on modules, mini-modules, and web site material. He also serves as the main
contact point for freelancers.
Blair Hughes
Blair has been working hard at altering our Internet presence. Having a
background in JAVA and HTML, he has made significant changes in the material that you see
and is working hard at maintaining an interesting and enjoyable image for the company.
Rain Sirovy
Rain has given us some insight and ideas on various concepts of the game. Joining
the creative ranks near the end of the endeavor, she pinpointed various areas that were
difficult to understand for the uninitiated. This helped us augment the rulebook to
support the new comer. Now she spends her time attending conventions and selling our
products. If Basement Games has a booth at a convention, Rain is sure to be there.
Scott Hawkey
Scott is known for his radical views toward gaming. His ideas helped create our
component magic system and altered our racial selections and modifications. He believes
you must be able to "envision" your character before you even roll the dice,
championing this viewpoint throughout the creation of Forge. Now, Scott is working
on a source book entitled The Umbrian Coast. The supplement focuses on naval combat,
ships, and new skills, equipment, and monsters. Of course the setting is the World of
Juravia, but one can only imagine the interesting twists that Scott will invent.
